Dear Parent(s),
For the past several years, West Elementary has shown support of our county recycling program by participating in various county-wide newspaper drives. The profits from the drives help fund the recycling trailers in Pottawatomie County.
In conjunction with “Earth Day,” which is April 22, another newspaper drive is scheduled for April 1-29. West students are encouraged to start collecting newspapers now and take them to the marked recycling trailer, located across from the Dutch Mill.
Advertisements and fliers that came inside your paper do not have to be removed. It is important, however, that absolutely no other paper items be included with your newspapers. Paper items such as magazines, telephone books, junk mail, paper bags, and children's school papers can be recycled in the regular recycling trailer. Also, please remember to remove all plastic sacks and strings.
Students at West will be competing to see which class can collect the most newspapers by April 29, our contest deadline. The winning class will earn a popcorn party.
Sincerely,
Sherry Helus
